Ploughing into some refreshing, rustic fare (January 30 Edition)
Man, I’m beginning to wonder if Brendan is even capable of giving a café/restaurant a negative (or slightly accurate) review. I mean he even had nice things to say about Captain Munchies. Though this weeks review isn’t so much focused on the food, but more on Brendan’s inadequacy’s as a father; how television and internet has tainted the younger generation and society; and an insight into the various ways in which the famous English assortment of food ‘ploughman’s lunch’ can be perceived. Brendan comes to the conclusion that the rustic nature of the meal is appealing. The beach-side kiosk which is mentioned is Coogee Beach Café. The only information about the menu that Brendan offers his readers is that nothing on it got his taste buds excited. Well, I guess regular readers should now be well aware what might excite Brendan’s taste buds. Though he has dined at ‘many up-market nosheries’ Brendan can still handle, and even find refreshing, a $20 ploughman’s lunch with little cheese selection and a wilted salad. If everyone was as accepting as Brendan Foster, the world would be a better place (with nowhere decent to eat).
I can’t think straight right now, but I think I agree!
Re: South Street Ale House review on Roo…. Well my dear Brendan the picture u published and then referred the locals to characters out of charles bukowski novel…. I pray to the gods above the child you have created grows to realise that his parents are nothing but tralier trash, who not only have no tastebuds but also have no respect for people who where morning the loss of a loved one. u my dear friend thought u could step in the judgemental circle and as it seems it has back fired!!!!. Ohh n by the way as far as my english was taught years ago, sentences do not start with the word but….. so wisen up Mr Brendan “try hard tastebuds” Foster n family. maybe next time you want a free meal you travel to your mothers. or will she not cook for you anymore????
